Senior Accountant.

Senior Accountant

Your job will be to ensure that our clients feel seen, heard, & supported, while providing timely, insightful and accurate financials. 

JOB FUNCTIONS

Onboarding of new clients from an accounting perspective

  • Identification of month end close processes needed (including monthly statement requests, manual journal entries, and software integrations)

    Creation of COA for specific client needs

    Identification of required filings for client (including federal, state and local income, sales tax, and other requirements) 

    Integration and testing of necessary software

    Cleanup of prior period financials, as necessary 

Creation & maintenance of SOPs for bookkeeping processes

  • Management of step by step instructions in Clickup 

  • Identification of process improvement for firm & client throughout relationship 

Ownership of Financial Statements

  • Ensure that accurate financial statements are delivered to reviewer by the 10th of each month

  • Over time, review bookkeeper drafts of financial statements and deliver to client by the 15th of the month.

Client Relationship Management

  • Timely, well thought out responses to client questions (We have a mandatory 48 hour response time) 

  • Attend client meetings on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and occasional friday mornings

Internal Firm Responsibilities

  • Attend bi weekly team meetings 

  • Check internal and external communication once per day Monday through Thursday 

  • Track your progress towards task in ClickUp

Flexible working hours, but must regularly be available for meetings & responses between 10am and 3pm CST Monday-Thursday.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Hourly pay starting at $30+, negotiable based on experience.

Part-time role with potential for full-time growth. Expectation of 20-40 hours per month, with the first 2 weeks being the bulk of the work.

Remote work opportunity; candidates must reside in Texas.

  • This candidate must 

    • Have 2-5 years of small business accounting experience

    • Have a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

    • Be able to manage strict deadlines

    • Have a strong willingness to learn

    • Be a strong communicator

    • Constantly be looking for ways to improve

    • Have a passion for helping others & spreading financial knowledge

    • Value family & personal time outside of work


    The ideal candidate will also:

    • Be a CPA or CPA Eligible 

    • Have experience with small business taxes including Texas Franchise and Sales Tax

    • Have experience with payroll systems such as Gusto or ADP

    • Have experience with Clickup as a project management system

    • Have experience in a forecasting or budgeting role 

    While we are open to teaching specific processes or information regarding our clients, the expectation is this person could get a set of books and understand what needs to be done and how to do it.
